Tunisia: Tourism generates more than $1.1 billion in revenue in H1 2026

The signs are green for Tunisia’s tourism sector. By the end of June 2026, Tunisia’s tourism receipts reached a new milestone, hitting 3.35 billion dinars, according to the latest financial indicators from the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

This figure confirms the upward trajectory of a sector that is key to the national economy. Compared with the first half of 2024, tourism revenues show solid growth of 141 million dinars.

Expressed in foreign currencies, this performance translates into a much-needed boost for the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Based on an average monthly exchange rate of 1 dollar for 2.895 dinars, these receipts represent approximately 1.15 billion dollars (Note: conversion based on the volume of foreign currency generated).

This continued growth demonstrates the resilience of the Tunisian destination and the effectiveness of promotional efforts in both traditional and emerging markets.  On the eve of the peak summer season, these encouraging half-year results support sector operators’ forecasts for the remainder of 2026
