Ethiopian Airlines to launch international flights to South-east Nigeria

Ethiopian Airlines is set to launch international flights from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Nigeria’s South-eastern city of Enugu 24 Aug., PANA learnt from Nigerian aviation authorities Monday.

The commencement of the flights would provide the opportunity for travellers from the South-east and neighbouring states to make international flights without having to come to the economic city of Lagos or the capital city of Abuja.

Meanwhile, the airline has confirmed it would commence the Enugu flights next Saturday, in addition to increasing its five-weekly flights to daily service

”Ethiopian will operate four times a week to Enugu, its 76th destination,” the airline said in a statement posted on its website.

”Now, passengers from Enugu will have direct flight connections to many destinations in Africa, Middle East, Asia, South America and Europe with the youngest and modern fleet in the continent and enjoy the usual Ethiopian hospitality.

“Our flight to Enugu is another exciting step towards enhancing our commitment to the needs of our travelling public. Nigeria has always been and continues to be one of our important destinations in West Africa,” airline Chief Executive Officer Tewolde Gebremariam was quoted to have said.

Ethiopian Airlines is Africa’s fastest growing Airline, and has been operating for the past 67 years.
