Gabon is to spend 6.076 billion CFA F in 2009, as aga inst 6.033 billion this year, on Port-Gentil, its economic capital, an official s ource told PANA Thursday.
The budget, considered as ambitious, will, among other things, ensure the paymen t of previous debts and the restoration of the work tools, the source indicated.
Being an oil city and a cosmopolitan one, Port-Gentil has a population of 100,00 0 people.
Oil is partly extracted off-shore and refined on the spot, the oil port being lo cated in Cap Lopez.
