Libya: 42nd edition of Tripoli international trade show opens

The 42nd edition of the international show of Tripoli opened on Wednesday evening at the international fair of Tripoli.

It is the third since the 17 February revolution in 2011 that ousted the regime of dictator Mouamar Kadhafi.

Altogether, 650 companies from eight countries are taking part in the annual trade event to be held from 2 to 12 April.

Organizers say that several conferences, roundtables and cultural events would be held.

The deputy-chairman of the Libyan National General Congress (NGC, Parliament), Saleh al-Makhzoum, and several NGC members, the minister of Tourism, Mrs Akram Bach Imam, the chairman of the local council of Tripoli, Saddat al-Beder, ambassadors and diplomatic heads in Libya and the leaders of several local and international companies attended the opening ceremony.

Set up in 1923, the international trade show of Tripoli is a large commercial meeting.
