Mauritania: Some US$90 million oil revenue in national account

The amount of oil revenue in Mauritania’s Oil Income Fund stood at more than US$90 million, as at 30 November 2013, according to a National Treasury document obtained by PANA on Monday.

It said income collected by Mauritania from oil production between 22 November and 22 December 2013, amounted to US$2.5 million.

Production at the Chinguiti offshore field, 70 km south of Nouakchott, during the same period, came to 192,261 barrels, representing a daily production of 6,409 barrels, down slightly  compared to the previous month.

Production at the oilfield is shared between the State and about 10 foreign oil companies.

Mauritania’s oil income comprises of revenue directly or indirectly from activities in the upstream oil sector, particularly from exploration, development, exploitation and marketing.
