Nigeria: French trade mission to meet Nigerian firms, govt. agencies on agribusiness

French companies engaged in the Agribusiness sector were due in Nigeria Monday (27Oct) on a four-day Business Development Trade Mission under the auspices of ADEPTA, according to ADEPTA Consultant Foluke Michael.

The 230-member ADEPTA brings together French agro-industries, manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, technologies, and input for agriculture, livestock and agri-food production.

These partner companies are seeking credible local partners to do business with as well as to bring their expertise to projects requiring international proficiency and skills, the Consultant said in a statement made available to PANA here on Monday.

The ADEPTA member companies, which are well-established in the areas of equipment development and manufacturing, supply of inputs, engineering and design expertise in the agriculture and agri-food industry, will meet with their Nigerian counterparts at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lagos Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the companies will commence visits to farms and agri-food industries.

Some of the companies on the Trade Mission are Prolac-Soufflet Group (Whole, skimmed and fat filled milk powder); Serac (Packaging solutions for dairy, food and beverages markets); Trisikalia (Potatoes seeds); Clextral (Processing lines for extruded products : couscous and pasta) and Coopex Montbeliarde (World leader in Montbeliarde genetics : pregnant heifers, semen, embryos, advice and technical support).

Also on the Mission are I.C.S. (Complete solutions for field crops farming in the tropics) and Olmix (Well-being and hygiene in animal production : atmosphere and feeding)

”ADEPTA member companies are looking forward to working with stakeholders within the agricultural sector of Nigeria economy to grow the sector,” Michael said.
