Nigeria: South African firm acquires Nigerian company

One of South Africa’s leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Firm, Business Connexion Group, has acquired a 100% holding in a Nigerian company, Panabiz, in an effort to advance its role as a global player with a key focus on Africa.

The private BusinessDay newspaper reported Monday that Panabiz Nigeria is a Managed Print Services (MPS) company with operation in other West African countries.

The newspaper quoted the Business Connexion Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Mophatlane, as saying, “We’re excited about our increasing African footprint and the talent joining Business Connexion.

”Our African footprint allows us to better service our client bases who too are expanding into Africa. Our recent acquisition allows us to provide solutions and services that are aligned to customer needs.”

Business Connexion (Pty) Ltd is South Africa’s leading IT services provider, and a leading integrator of innovative business solutions based on ICT.

With over 7,000 employees and a track record spanning over 33 years, Business Connexion runs mission-critical ICT systems and manages products, services and solutions for Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE)-listed and key public sector organisations, parastatals and medium-sized companies.

By this acquisition, the Panabiz team of 60 staff members is expected to join Business Connexion Nigeria’s 140-member team in Nigeria’s commercial city of Lagos.
