Senegal: BADEA’s board of directors meets in Dakar

Members of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), will meet here Wednesday, its first meeting for the year 2014,
the bank said in a statement, obtained by PANA Tuesday.

The meeting will be chairmanned by Yousif Bin Ibrahim Al-Bassam and Mr. Abdelaziz Khelef,  BADEA’s Director General, will be in attendance.

According to the statement, the Board will discuss the Report of the Director General on the Bank’s activities during the period January-February 2014, in addition to a number of financial reports, including the bank’s activities during the fourth quarter of the year 2013 and up to 31 January 2014.

The Board will also discuss the Bank’s Annual Report and the Auditors’ Financial Report for the year 2013, in addition to a number of other important issues, notably the endorsement of the agenda fo the 39th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, to be held in Tunis 8-9 ِApril 2014.

The Board will also approve financing of a number of projects and technical assistance operations for the benefit of several African countries.

PANA reports that BADEA’s operations cover 44 eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and a number of regional organizations. The operations cover infrastructure, agriculture, rural development, education and health, energy, industry, and the private sector.
