Leading network security vendor Cyberoam has announced the availability of award winning Sophos end-point protection portfolio for its partners in Kenya and Tanzania, opening up more revenue opportunities as well as enabling Cyberoam partners to differentiate with enhanced and unique security portfolio in the process.
“Cyberoam is now a part of Sophos, which operates out of dual headquarters based in Boston, US and Oxford, UK and protects 100,000 businesses and 100 million users in more than 150 countries,” the company said Monday in a statement through global telecommunications monitor Pyramid Research.
Sophos boasts a comprehensive line-up of endpoint-protection that has won stellar ratings including internet security, application and device control, data protection, encryption tools, mobile protection, Exchange server protection and network access control.
“This opens up a huge opportunity for our partners as they will have access to a more powerful and versatile portfolio of security solutions from two security leaders. Sophos brings evolved end-point security, which not only complements Cyberoam’s network security solutions but also allows Cyberoam partners to establish a stronger position for growing African markets such as Kenya and Tanzania”, said Philip Obondy, Channel Manager-Kenya, Cyberoam
According to the statement, Sophos offers a broad range of protection providing coverage for operating systems, desktops, mobile devices, gateways and Exchange servers.
“It can manage complex compliance requirements as well as filtering by policy and appliance. Sophos can protect off-network laptops and PCs to manage remote or traveling workforces,” it said.
Growing adoption of mobility and other forms of endpoints has resulted in intensified demand to bring these endpoints into the work environment of enterprise as well as emerging businesses.
Botnet attacks, cyber-espionage, online and mobile banking fraud and anonymous proxy server attacks are some of the key threats that Kenya faces at the present.
A recent cyber security survey in Kenya revealed that the number of cyber-attacks detected in Kenya rose by 108 percent to 5.4 million in 2013.
