27,328 unemployed people have been recruited from the beginning of this year until May, according to the latest figures of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, posting an increase of 24% compared with the same period last year.
The manufacturing sector and the services industries contributed the most to the recruitment of the unemployed, with respective rises of 30.8% and 29.3%, while the contribution of the fisheries sector and non-manufacturing industries declined by 2.8% and 30.1%, respectively.
