Minister of Tourism René Trabelsi told Mosaique FM on Thursday, May 2, 2019 that a three-year partnership agreement will be signed this month with UK travel giant Thomas Cook; Kerkennah Island could host the agreement signing ceremony.
The minister said negotiations are also underway with the German operator Tui Group for another similar partnership agreement, and that the goal of these partnerships is to push these major operators to send more tourists to Tunisia and diversify their offers for Tunisian destinations.
René Trabelsi confirmed that Tunisia is constantly regaining the confidence of UK tour operators and tourists since the stabilization of security conditions in the country.
Representatives of Thomas Cook have indicated that British tourists’ demands on Tunisian destinations are constantly increasing.
The tour operator will send nearly 100 thousand British tourists this summer to Tunisia.
It is estimated that a total of 250 thousand Britons will visit the country during the 2019 summer season.
