Tunisia: 35 local and foreign exhibitors expected in “Tunis-MedFranchise”

35 Tunisian and foreign exhibitors will participate at the “Tunis MedFranchise” to be held from December 2 to 3 at the headquarters of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts (UTICA).

At a press briefing Thursday morning in Tunis, Mounir Mouakhar, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tunis (CCIT), said the fifth edition of the Tunis-MedFranchise fair will be held this year under the theme “Franchising: a New Economic Future.”

“Franchise is currently in full expansion in Tunisia. It allows the creation of several projects in different sectors and generates a large number of job positions, “he has said.

He added that the “American Guarantee Fund” of $ 50 million, or about 75 million dinars is now operational and enables franchisees to support Tunisian youth in mounting their projects or expanding their activities.

“70% of the project is guaranteed by the fund,” said the President of the CCIT, noting that three Tunisian banks currently participate in the guarantee scheme, namely Amen Bank, Attijari Bank and ATB and will be present at the show.

Moreover, he stressed that projects created in the franchise context are likely to succeed because their sponsors are required to meet quality standards adopted by the franchisor recalling, in this context, that only 26 sectors are currently allowed to be franchised.

For his part, Nacheet Azouz, coordinator of the fair said that 40% of exhibitors who will participate in the fair are foreigners (USA, France, Italy and Spain) against 60% of Tunisians.

Tunisian and foreign experts in Franchise will also participate at the fair and will host workshops on financing of the franchise, the franchise agreement under Tunisian law and regional perspective on the franchise besides testimonies of franchisors and franchisees.
