The number of newly registered voters has reached 735,000, Nabil Baffoun, member of the Higher Independent Body for the Elections (ISIE) said on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
He added that the ISIE is currently studying the possibility of extending for a second time the registration deadline, which targets a certain category of citizens, namely young people who will be 18 years on the date of the election, students who are still waiting for their university course selection to be able to choose their polling station and Tunisians abroad who have not registered in significant numbers.
