Tunisia: Algeria grants $ 100 million loan

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika promulgated, on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, a presidential decree on the ratification of the Financial Protocol between the Government of the Algerian Republic and the Government of the Tunisian Republic, signed on March 10, 2015 in Algiers.

It pertains to a loan of one hundred million dollars repayable over a period of fifteen years; the loan interest rate is 1% with a five year grace period.

That decree was concluded May 4, 2014 in Algiers on the occasion of the working visit of former Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa.

It covers a deposit agreement between the Bank of Algeria and the Central Bank of Tunisia ($ 100 million), a protocol on the granting by Algeria of a loan to Tunisia and another protocol for granting a non-repayable financial assistance.
