Tunisia-Algeria: resumption of rail service

The Tunisian National Railway Company (SNCFT) has announced that the resumption of the rail service between Tunis and Annaba (Algeria) will start exceptionally on Sunday, August 11, with a departure from Tunis station at 08:00. This will be the first commercial service.

The next two departures will be on Wednesday, August 14 and Friday, August 16, departing from Tunis station at 08:25.

The company has specified that this train will be dedicated exclusively to international traffic between Tunis and Annaba, with the usual timetable as follows

Departure from Tunis station to Annaba station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 08:25.

Departure from Annaba station to Tunis station on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 09:00.

Stops between Tunis and Annaba, in both directions, are at the following stations

Béja – Jendouba – Ghardimaou – Souk Ahras.

The outward fare is 38 Tunisian dinars in second class and 44 Tunisian dinars in first class. The return fare is 71 Tunisian dinars in second class and 81 Tunisian dinars in first class, subject to advance booking.

The company offers free travel for children under the age of 4 and reduced fares for children between the ages of 4 and 12.
