Tunisia: Amen Bank realizes half-yearly NBI of 186 MD, down 6%

Amen Bank said it has achieved a Net Banking Income of 186 million dinars at the end of the first half of the year, compared to 198.8 million at the end of June 2019, down 6.5%.

Banking operating income recorded a decrease of 20.9 million dinars (-4.7%) compared to the same period in 2019, to 426.7 million dinars.

As for operating expenses, they recorded a decrease of 8.1 million dinars, from 248.9 million to 240.8 million between June 2019 and June 2020.

The cost/income ratio therefore reached 43% for the first half of 2020, compared with 38.4% for the same period in 2019, up 4.6 percentage points.

In addition, customer credits, net of provisions and reserved agios, rose from 5.76 billion dinars at the end of June 2019 to 5.84 billion dinars at the end of June 2020, up 84.9 million dinars or 1.5%.

Customer deposits and assets stood at 5.7 billion dinars, i.e. an increase of 211.1 million dinars (+3.8%) compared to June 30, 2019.

Product commissions recorded a drop of 2.9 million dinars (-5.2%) compared to the same period in 2019.

This decrease is due to the measures taken by the bank in response to the pandemic, by offering certain services free of charge.
