Tunisia: “ASSAD” announces entry into production of new plant in Algeria

The company “L’Accumulateur Tunisien ASSAD,” said Monday its new battery manufacturing plant in Algeria has entered into production since March 2022. The inauguration ceremony of the new plant took place under the high patronage of the Algerian President.

At the end of this ceremony, a certificate of entry into operation was issued by the local authorities, reads a press release from the company.

The premises of the new plant in Bouira cover an area of 8,000 square meters, built on a plot of 22,700 square meters acquired in 2017, in the new extension of the industrial zone Oued El Bardi in the wilaya of Bouira located 120 km east of Algiers.

With a production capacity of 700,000 batteries per year, the new plant is distinguished by the integration of the charge and formation process in the manufacture of batteries, in addition to the assembly initially integrated in the old plant of Sidi Moussa.

ASSAD said the new plant aims to increase the turnover and profitability of the parent company and its subsidiary in Algeria, taking advantage of the Algerian market which represents about 6 million vehicles. The company believes that the completion of this major project will improve the growth and development prospects of the entire Group.
