Tunisia: ATCT reports hiring of 3,087 guest workers until November 30

The Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation has finalized the hiring of 3,087 Tunisian guest workers until November 30, 2015, up 4.3% compared to the same period in 2014.
The recruitment involved the education and higher education sector with 1,389 hires, including 483 university professors, followed by the health sector (643) and trade and marketing (284).
Arab countries are the main beneficiaries with 2,593 recruited, or 84% of the total hires.
 
Saudi Arabia occupies the first position in terms of recruitment of Tunisian guest workers with 1,077, followed by Qatar with 508 recruited and Oman with 278.
 In this regard, 70 recruitment boards have travelled to Tunisia to conduct interviews with Tunisian candidates and learn about the available human resources.
ATCT has further received 162 job offers.
 
In addition and as part of bilateral and triangular cooperation, 28 Tunisian experts have conducted technical assistance missions of whom 27 as part of a campaign against curable blindness in favor of the Republic of Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti and Mozambique and an expert to lead a training session in the field of fisheries for the benefit of Oman.
 
Furthermore, the Agency organized five training sessions for 36 managers from 10 African countries in Tunisia in the field of education, project management, housing and rehabilitation.
 
The total number of officers working abroad reached 17,634 Tunisian guest workers and experts until November 30, 2015.
