The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has informed the authorized intermediaries that it will include, from Wednesday, February 1, 2017, Chinese currency Yan in its foreign currency reserves, Ilboursa reported.
It should be noted that this decision was taken at the end of the periodic meeting of the Executive Board of the BCT held on November 30, 2016.
This move will boost Tunisian exports, but also the arrival of Chinese tourists who will be able to use the Yuan.
In the long term, the BCT will be able to finance itself on the Chinese capital market and also on the Chinese bond market already open to central banks.
