Tunisia ranked fourth in terms of Internet access in Africa

According to the latest figures published by Internet Live Stats, part of the Real Time Statistics project, Tunisia was ranked 4th in Africa in terms of Internet access rates. The latter was 48.1% in 2016, or 5,471,481 Internet users.

At the top of the list of countries with the highest penetration rates are Seychelles (57.9%), Morocco (57.6%) and South Africa (52%). More than half of the population has access to the network.

The ranking also shows that 10 countries account for 80% of African Internet users, namely Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Sudan, Algeria, Uganda, Ghana and Angola.

Nigeria remains the country with the most Internet users with nearly 86 million people, which is equivalent to a penetration rate of more than 46%.
