Tunisia: BT sees NBI increases by 10% and customer loans by 7.3 in H1 2022

The activity indicators of the Bank of Tunisia (BT) showed loans to customers (net of provisions) of 5,145,704 thousand dinars on June 30, 2022, against 4,797,117 thousand dinars in the same period of 2021, up 7.3%.

Customer deposits are growing by +8.9% from 4,580,125 thousand dinars as of 30/06/2021 to 4,989,926 thousand dinars as of 30/06/2022.

This growth is essentially generated by the increase of the term deposits by +16.5% and the savings deposits by +7.7%.

The outstanding special resources decreased by -17.3% from 432,963 thousand dinars as of June 30, 2021 to 357,932 thousand dinars as of June 30, 2022.

The banking operating income went up 9.4% to 324,248 thousand dinars as of June 30, 2022 against 296,275 thousand dinars as of June 30, 2021.

This increase concerns mainly the income of the commercial and investment portfolio +27.6%.

Banking operating expenses rose by 8.3% from 110,594 thousand dinars at the end of June 2021 to 119,793 thousand dinars at the end of June 2022.

This increase comes from the growth of deposits and the rise in the ERR. The Net Banking Product reached at the end of the 2nd quarter 2022 an amount of 204.455 thousand dinars, against 185.681 thousand dinars at the end of the 2nd quarter 2021, that is to say a rise of +10,1%.

The operating expenses increased by +9.9% to reach 65,423 thousand dinars as of 30/06/2022 against 59,513 thousand dinars as of 30/06/2021.
