At the end of the first quarter of 2025, the activity indicators of Banque de Tunisie (BT) showed good progress.
Customer loans (net of provisions) reached 5,995,986 thousand dinars at March 31, 2025, compared with 5,859,725 thousand dinars at March 31, 2024, up 136,261 thousand dinars (+2.3%).
Customer deposits went up by 11.9%, from 5,838,390 thousand dinars at March 31, 2024 to 6,531,768 thousand dinars at March 31, 2025, an increase of 693,378 thousand dinars.
This growth is mainly due to the increase in time deposits of +24.4% (+427,576 thousand dinars) to a total of 2,177,989 thousand dinars and savings deposits of +10.7% (+220,907 thousand dinars).
The outstanding special funds decreased from 245,139 thousand dinars at March 31, 2024 to 169,077 thousand dinars at March 31, 2025.
Income from banking operations increased by (+7.2%) to 225,158 thousand dinars at March 31, 2025 compared to 209,983 thousand dinars at March 31, 2024.
This increase mainly concerns income from the commercial and investment portfolio (+17.2%).
Banking operating expenses increased by 15.6% from 88,053 thousand dinars at the end of March 2024 to 101,776 thousand dinars at the end of March 2025.
Net banking income reached 123,382 thousand dinars at the end of Q1 2025 compared to 121,930 thousand dinars at the end of Q1 2024, up 1.2% (+1,452 thousand dinars).
Operating expenses grew by +8.5% to 46,014 thousand dinars at March 31, 2025, compared to 42,425 thousand dinars at March 31, 2024.
