Carthage Cement ended 2023 with a record turnover of TND 431 million, 18% higher than in 2022. This growth was driven by the positive performance of the cement and aggregates businesses.
Local sales rose from TND 278 million at December 31, 2022 to TND 339 million in 2023, an increase of 22%.
With regard to the export market, the company managed to maintain the same level of sales as in 2022, i.e. TND 57 million, despite a 34% decline in the 4th quarter of 2022 due to disruptions on the international market. Carthage Cement has thus consolidated its position as the leader of the cement sector in Tunisia.
In 2023, sales of aggregates increased by 27% compared to 2022, from TND 17.6 million to TND 22.4 million. Concrete sales, on the other hand, fell by 11% to TND 12.7 million by the end of 2023, compared with TND 14.3 million in 2022.
Investments reached TND 30.5 million in 2023, while debt fell by 9.4% to millions of dinars.
