Tunisia: CEPEX and UTICA prospect Africa’s largest economy Nigeria

The Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) are organizing a multi-sector mission in Abuja, Nigeria from March 11 to 14, 2018, CEPEX reported.

The program of the mission, to be held on the sidelines of the fifth Tunisia-Nigeria Joint Commission, will include a Tunisia-Nigeria Economic Forum, as well as B-to-B Meetings with Nigerian economic operators.

Twenty companies in sectors with high added value, including health, mechanical and electrical industry, agri-food and services will seek to capture Nigeria’s market, the Center said in a statement.

“Nigeria, a market with high economic potential, is one of the rising powers of the economy over the next twenty years.

It is the most populous country in Africa with 193 million inhabitants (2017) and the largest economy in the continent “, a place it had lost in August 2016 to South Africa and has taken over in October of the same year.

The sector opportunities offered by this huge market are, among others, agri-food, fashion and cosmetics, Internet and high-tech, public works, services, health …, added the same source.

Nigeria was the 13th supplier and 13th customer of Tunisia in 2017.
