Tunisia: Citibank Tunis stabilizes profits at almost 25 million dinars in 2023

Citibank Tunis (Onshore branch) has published its financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2023.

These statements show a net profit of 24.4 million dinars, compared with 25 million a year earlier, a slight fall of 2.6%.

In 2023, the bank generated operating income of 90 million dinars, compared with 73.7 million dinars in 2022, representing growth of 22%.

This income consists mainly of interest and similar income amounting to 43.6 million dinars and gains on the commercial securities portfolio amounting to 44.3 million dinars.

The trading securities portfolio consists mainly of treasury bills, with a balance of 288.4 million dinars (+5%).

Operating expenses rose from 16.8 million dinars to 25.4 million dinars, an increase of 51%. As a result, net banking income rose by 13.4% to 64.5 million dinars, compared with 56.9 million dinars in 2022.

Loans and advances to customers rose by 36.5 million dinars compared with the end of 2022, an increase of 37% to 136.9 million dinars.

Customer deposits and assets rose by 7.3 million dinars (+2%) to 454.1 million dinars at 31 December.
