Exports of Tunisian dates reached 18,500 tons in January 2023 and their value stood at 107.5 million dinars (MD), down 11.1% in volume and stable in value compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data recently published by the National Agricultural Observatory (ONAGRI).
In terms of variety, 90.6% of the quantities exported are of the “Deglet Ennour” variety, i.e. 16,700 tons with a value of 103.5 MD.
The leading importer of Tunisian dates is Morocco with a share of 30.4% of the quantities exported, followed by Turkey (8%) and Libya (5.1%), said ONAGRI.
