Tunisia’s state grains agency is believed to have purchased about 100,000 metric tons of soft wheat and 75,000 tons of animal feed barley to be sourced from optional origins in an international tender on Tuesday, European traders said.
The wheat was said to have been bought on cost and freight (c&f) terms in four 25,000-ton consignments from trading house Finagrit at $268.32 a ton, from Cargill at $268.97 a ton, from Casillo at $268.98 a ton and from Viterra at $270.48 a ton.
The barley was said to have been bought on c&f terms in three 25,000-ton consignments all from trading house Aston at $220.00 a ton, $220.50 a ton and $221.00 a ton.
Both grains were sought for shipment in November and December depending on origins supplied.
