A Tunisian delegation including representatives of the milk sector in northwestern governorates, on Sunday, paid a working visit to the Wilaya of El Tarf, Algeria.
“The visit aimed to explore ways to export the milk production surplus estimated at 25 million liters to Algeria,” president of the National Chamber of Milk Collection Centers Saadallah Khalfaoui told TAP.
The Algerian officials expressed their willingness to encourage all stakeholders in the milk sector in Algeria, in the first place the national office, to import the Tunisian milk.
The two sides have agreed to organize a Tunisian-Algerian partnership day on the import-export modes next January 28.
An Algerian investor said he will visit Tunisia next Friday to import a large quantity of milk from dairy plants.
Milk producers and collectors in several governorates, particularly Jendouba and Sidi Bouzid, have spilled milk on road to warn the government about the alarming increase of milk stock that exceeded 52 million liters until last December.
