Tunisia: Dinar depreciates by 3.3% against euro in first nine months of 2023

The dinar exchange rate appreciated by a monthly average of 0.4% against the euro and depreciated by 1.5% against the US dollar in September 2023, compared to August.

According to the note on economic and monetary developments published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), in September 2023 the dinar depreciated by 4.3% against the euro and appreciated by 3.3% against the US dollar compared with the same period last year.

Over the first nine months of 2023 as a whole, the dinar depreciated by an average of 3.2% against the euro, compared with an appreciation of 1.8% a year earlier.

The dinar also depreciated by 1.1 % against the US dollar, compared with a sharper depreciation of 9.6 % at the end of September 2022.
