Tunisia: FIPA, OBG to launch report on COVID-19 impact

The Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) and the Oxford Business Group (OBG) will launch on July 9 a report on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and Tunisia’s recovery strategy.

The “Tunisia COVID-19 Response Report,” will present Tunisia’s response to the COVID-19 crisis and will provide an overview of the macro-economic and political situation in the country before the COVID-19 crisis, according to an OBG press release on Thursday.

It will thereafter monitor the spread of the virus in the country, compare the situation to that of other countries and present the immediate response strategy adopted by the public and private sectors.

The report will also present an economic assessment of the pandemic and an estimation of its medium-term impact on key economic sectors for the 2nd quarter of 2020, and an analysis of the budget measures announced by the government to address the crisis and the temporarily set-up assistance and recovery mechanisms.

The report will also include an analysis of the sectors to be identified as priorities to recovery and the expected emergence of new methods to make business, notably the growing role of technologies and innovation as engines of the social-economic success.
