Tunisia’s food balance deficit has more than doubled from January to April, 2014, reaching 615.9 million Tunisian dinars (MTD° against 293.8 MTD during the same period of 2013, said the latest figures published by the Ministry of Agriculture.
This deficit results from the 34% decline in food exports to 641 MTD against 971.2 MTD in the same period of the previous year, while imports have almost stabilized at 1,256.9 MTD in 2014 against 1,265 MTD in 2013.
