Tunisia: tourist arrivals in Kebili up 30% in H1

Tourist arrivals in the governorate of Kébili edged up 30% in H1 of 2019, said regional delegate of tourism Mohamed Sayem.

Nearly 78,000 tourists visited the region since early January against 60,000 during the same period last year.

The number of bed-nights posted a 33.6% rise, reaching 90,000 in comparison with 67,000 during the same period in 2018.

Visitor numbers from France, Germany and Britain rebounded. Those from Italy, Nordic countries and Russia followed suit, he said.

The festivals of Kébili and Douz and a series of sports tourism events in October will help stimulate tourism in the region, Sayem added.
