Tunisia : Foreign exchange reserves stabilise at 118 days of imports as of April 7

Tunisia’s foreign exchange reserves stabilised at $6,909 million, equivalent to 118 days of imports, as of April 7, 2020, posting an increase of 7 days of imports compared to the end of 2019, said a note by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) on “Economic and Monetary Developments/April 2020” published Tuesday.

The dinar’s exchange rate depreciated by 1.8% against the euro and 0.2% against the dollar in March 2020, compared to the averages of last February.

The appreciation of the dinar’s exchange rate in March 2020, compared to the same period of the previous year was 8.9% against the euro and 6.5% against the US dollar after an improvement of 11.2% and 6.8%, respectively, one month earlier.
