The glass beads production unit should resume its activity soon, if barriers that have caused its closure, will be overcome, announced Tuesday the representative of German group Weissker.
A working meeting held at the seat of the Governorate of Gabes discussed issues that caused the closure of this plant recently installed in the industrial zone of Gabes by the German group Weissker.
These problems include “the lack of security in the region and the delay in setting up a shuttle to transport containers to the commercial port of Gabes.”
Regional authorities are committed to resolving these problems and ensuring a shuttle to transport containers to the commercial port of Gabes, knowing that the import and export activity of this production unit is more than 3,000 containers per year.
The production unit of glass beads was launched by the German Weissker with investments of around 70 million dinars. It has created some 300 jobs.
