Exports of Tunisian dates increased significantly during the first ten months of the 2023/2024 season, with a 17.6% increase in volume and a 22.4% increase in value compared to the same period of the previous season, according to the National Observatory for Agriculture (ONAGRI).
In total, Tunisia exported 135.2 thousand tons of dates, generating revenues of 839.1 million dinars. The average price of dates also increased by 4.1% during this period, reaching 6.22 D/kg, compared with 5.97 D/kg in the previous campaign.
Exports of organic dates amounted to 7.773 thousand tons with a value of 84.5 million dinars and an average price of TND 12.87/kg.
These organic dates represent 5.8% of the total volume and 12.1% of the total value of Tunisian date exports.
Germany is the main market for Tunisian organic dates, accounting for 36% of exports, followed by Belgium (14%) and the Netherlands (12%).
