The pilot project for a high-efficiency, energy-saving street lighting network in the Industrial Zone 3 in Gabes has recently been commissioned.
The components of the project, which cost around 1.2 million dinars, include the installation of three medium-low voltage electrical transformers, a public lighting network of 6,200 linear meters and 211 high-efficiency LED lanterns and lamps.
This project, carried out by the Agence Foncière Industrielle (AFI), is characterized in particular by significant savings in electricity consumption, estimated at around 58%, a reduction in carbon emissions of more than 54% and a service life of more than 50,000 hours, all of which will help to reduce maintenance costs and provide high-quality, intelligent and environmentally friendly lighting, in line with sustainable development objectives, according to AFI.
Industrial Zone 3 in Gabes, covering an area of 120 hectares, is the first industrial zone to have its public lighting network installed by AFI.
