Tunisia: handicraft products showcased at Tunisian-American professional days

The Tunisian-American professional days, which are part of a project to boost the export of Tunisia’s handicraft products to the U.S. market, were held from January 18 to 19, 2016 in Tunis.

The project aims to provide technical support to Tunisian handicraft companies to facilitate their access to the U.S. market.

This support is provided by U.S. experts and aims to help the Tunisian handicraft products to meet the needs of the targeted market.

U.S. ambassador in Tunis Daniel Rubinstein stated his country’s willingness to strengthen co-operation with Tunisia through increasing the volume of trade in all sectors, including handicrafts, a sector that could attract U.S. consumers, he said.

According to the National Handicrafts Office (French: ONA), the handicrafts sector employs 350,000 craftsmen, including 160,000 working in co-operation with the office.
