KPIT Technologies, one of India’s leading companies specializing in mobility technologies, has inaugurated a new software engineering center in Tunisia, based in Sfax, as part of a $1.52 million investment.
According to a statement from the Indian Embassy in Tunisia, the project aims to accelerate the development of smart mobility solutions, strengthen local software engineering capabilities and create highly skilled jobs for Tunisian talent.
This is the group’s second establishment in Sfax in the field of software engineering. According to the company, this choice is explained by several advantages: the quality of Tunisian engineers, geographical proximity to Europe and limited time zone difference, as well as cost competitiveness for international clients.
The center’s mission also includes supporting global automotive manufacturers (OEMs) in Europe, amid the sector’s rapid transformation toward more connected and intelligent vehicles.
KPIT Technologies inaugurated a software engineering center in Sfax in May 2025, presented as its first center of expertise in Africa in the field of automotive mobility.
The site already employs around 500 to 600 Tunisian engineers and operates as a nearshore hub serving European automotive manufacturers.
In Sfax, teams work on several areas: software for connected vehicles, embedded systems, electrical and electronic architectures, electric and hybrid propulsion, as well as ADAS technologies, cybersecurity and over-the-air (OTA) updates.
KPIT Technologies is an Indian player specializing in software for the automotive industry and smart mobility solutions. The group supports global manufacturers in their transition to electric, connected, and autonomous vehicles by developing embedded systems and complex software platforms.
Present internationally, KPIT operates in India, the United States, Europe, and China, allowing it to continuously collaborate with major automotive manufacturers and distribute its development activities across several regions of the world.
