Tunisia: investments in totally exporting industries rise 12%

Investments reported in the totally exporting industries posted an increase of 12.1%, from 592.5 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) to 664.1 MTD during the first eight months 2016.

industries whose production is oriented towards the domestic market rose 10.8% from 1,112.7 MTD to 1,232.8 MTD during the first eight months of 2016. this is what appeared from the latest figures from the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) recently made public.

Investments reported under creative projects increased from 939 MTD in 2015 to 941.2 MTD during the first eight months of 2016, thus posting an increase of 0.2%. The number of these projects grew

by 7.4% from 1,646 to 1,768 during the first eight months 2016. However, the number of jobs created fell by 0.6%, from 23,429 to 23,289 job positions during the same period in 2015.

Investments reported under projects other than creation (extension, renewal of equipment, …) reached 955.7 MTD, or 24.7% more than the volume registered during the first eight months of 2015.

The number of projects decreased by 0.8 % from 643 during the first eight months 2015 to 638 in the first eight months 2016, and jobs related thereto were up 11.3% with 11,670 job positions against 10,482 in the first eight months in 2015.
