The recovery seems to be well underway in the tourism sector. More than 938,000 tourists entered in Tunisia in the first three months of this year, up 53% compared with Q1 of 2011, generating a 37% increase in tourism revenues.
According to figures from the Ministry of Tourism, 116,000 French tourists, 42,000 Germans and 42,000 British and Italian visited Tunisia in the first quarter 2012.
During that period, Maghreb tourists, including Algerian and Libyan were also numerous with 629,000 tourists.
