Tunisia: number of tourists hits over 6.3 million until August 31

Over 6 million 300 thousand tourists visited Tunisia between January 1 and August 31, 2019, generating revenues of nearly 3,399 million dinars, up 45% over the same period of 2018, said Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts René Trabelsi.

Speaking on the sidelines of his visit in the Governorate of Nabeul on Thursday, Trabelsi added in a statement that the goal of reaching 9 million tourists by the end of this year is achievable with the great revival of the tourism sector.

He pointed out that all the indicators reflect a promising tourist year, especially as several hotels are full until the end of September.

He also pointed to the expected influx of a large number of tourists interested in Thalassotherapy and Saharan tourism, particularly in November.
