Olive oil exports reached 186,000 tons (8,100 tons packaged) worth 1.139 billion dinars (MTD) from November 2014 to the end of April 2015, against exports of 26 thousand tons (159 MTD) in the same period last year.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Water resources and Fisheries, olive oil exports, which started in November 2014, are ongoing.
Regarding the general situation of olive groves and its impact on production prospects for the 2014-2015 season, the same source said that the season was rainy during the winter and spring in different production areas and on uneven periods, which had a positive effect on the health situation of olive groves and accelerated the maturity of trees.
