Khemaies Jhinaoui, diplomatic advisor to the President of the Republic told TAP, US Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew announced his country’s favorable response to the Tunisian request to obtain US guarantees, in case of borrowing from the international financial markets for loans of about $ 500 million.
Following a meeting between President Beji Caid Essebsi and the US Secretary of the, Treasury Jhinaoui stressed that the two sides discussed, during their meeting, technical cooperation between the Tunisian Ministry of Finance and the US Treasury in several areas, including tax and customs reforms.
The two officials have also agreed to the exchange of visits between officials of the relevant administrations in both countries.
