Tunisia: overnight MMR falls to 7.76%. (BCT)

The overnight money market rate (MMR) stood at 7.76% on Friday 22 November 2019, its lowest level since last February, when the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT)’s decision to raise its key interest rate by 100 basis points from 6.75% to 7.75% came into effect.

This decline follows a decline in the overall volume of refinancing by banks with the BCT to 11.6 billion dinars on 22 November, after reaching record levels this year.

It should be recalled that the average MMR for October was 7.81%.
