Date production in the governorate of Tozeur reached this year 49,000 tons, a record figure up 15.3% compared to the previous season, according to a report from the Regional Agricultural Development Commission in Tozeur.
The report, published this week, notes that the dates picking campaign started a few days ago and will reach its peak in the months of October and November.

The number of productive palm trees in the region of Tozeur is estimated at 900,000 for Deglet Ennour and 450,000 for the other varieties of dates.
