Tunisia: slight improvement in tourism indicators in Tabarka and Ain Draham

Tourist trade in Tabarka and Ain Draham (Jendouba) posted a slight improvement in December 2011, compared to the same period of 2010.

The number of visitors in the two cities rose from 19,053 to 20,502, i.e., a rise of 7.6%.

The number of tourist bed-nights in the region reached 40,777, against 37,946 in December 2010, i.e. a 7.46% increase.

The last ten days of December 2011, which coincided with the winter holidays, recorded a leap of 11.46% in the number of visitors to Tabarka and 10.5% in Ain Draham, compared to the same period of 2010.

Some 2,170 tourists, including 1,911 Tunisian nationals, stayed in hotels of the region for the New Year’s celebration.
