West African bank supports road, sanitation projects in Benin

The West African Development Bank (BOAD) has granted Benin a loan of 7 billion FCFA to finance the paving of roads and sanitation projects in three communes in the south, centre and north of the country, official sources in Cotonou told PANA on Thursday.

The project, funded by BOAD, would help develop a total of 19,830 metres of roads in the communes of Kétou (southeast), Tchaourou (northeast) and Savè (centre).

It is also aimed at improving the urban environment and the hygiene situation in the localities.

The loan brings to 393 billion FCFA the total amount of BOAD commitments in Benin, with transport infrastructure getting 106 billion FCFA
