Tunisia: TAA and GIZ work together to launch training academy in automotive industry

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Tunisian Automotive Association (TAA), the German Agency for International Development Cooperation (GIZ) and the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy, for the launch of the “Tunisian Automotive Management Academy” (TAMA), a training academy that aims to develop skills essential to the automotive industry in Tunisia.

The recently signed agreement also aims to promote the automotive sector through support for the implementation of a “Pact for the Competitiveness of the automotive industry”, the development of a communication plan for the development of a brand image of the Tunisian automotive sector and the development of a database for this sector for use by potential investors and foreign principals.

It also aims to promote better management of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic through the development of a health guide and the launch of targeted training (waste management of the automotive sector, international networking …).

The Tunisian Automotive Association is a Tunisian non-profit association created in February 2016, at the initiative of the actors of the automotive components industry in Tunisia and FIPA (The Foreign Investment Promotion Agency).

It seeks to promote exchanges, collaborations and synergy between companies in the automotive industry sector and to accompany the Tunisian authorities in the development and promotion projects of the sector in Tunisia.
