Tunisia: Tax amnesty would be difficult to reschedule in future (Ayari)

Mohamed Salah Ayari, a member of the National Tax Council, told Mosaïque FM on Monday that it would be difficult to reschedule the tax amnesty in the future, referring to the position of the Minister of Finance, who refused to extend the deadline for the tax amnesty last year.

However, Ayari stressed that this exceptional measure would allow the state to strengthen its resources, estimating that it could generate around 2,000 million dinars for the current year, compared to 1,200 million dinars in 2022.

The tax consultant and university professor also proposed a new initiative: a “tax credit” for regular taxpayers, offering a reduction in the tax rate for those who fulfil their tax obligations correctly.
