Tunisia: Tunisair registers record load factor of 78% in March

National carrier “Tunisair” saw a record load factor of 78% in March, exceeding levels recorded before the COVID-19 pandemic on some destinations, according to data published by the Tunis Stock Exchange Thursday.

This performance was recorded despite the reduction in the number of the fleet, which reached 13 aircraft in 2022 against 21 aircraft in 2019, according to the same source.

The number of passengers carried by Tunisair in the first quarter of 2022 reached 409,997 against 149,027 during the same period last year, a growth of 175%.

This progress is explained by the improvement of the health situation and the progressive lifting of travel restrictions.

The fill rate reached 75.5% at the end of March 2022, i.e. an increase of 7.1 points compared to the same period of the year 2021.

The activity of the national carrier was also marked by the entry into service of two new Airbus A320neo, as well as the return of catering services, under the company’s strategy to develop its air fleet and improve services.

Tunisair’s fleet will also be reinforced by two additional aircraft in 2022, according to the same source.
